Ngagelan Beach

Ngagelan Beach is located in the west of Trianggulasi, 8km from Banyuwangi. Beside as tourism object, this beach is also is a place of semi-natural turtle egg incubation.

There are 4 species of turtles of all 6 species of turtles in Indonesia and also 7 species in the world who landed in this Ngagelan Beachbeach, such as : Lekang or grey turtle (Lepidochelys olivaceae), Shell turtle (Eretmochelys imbricate), Belimbing turtle (Dermochelys coreacea), and Green turtle (Chelonia mydas). Among the four turtles above, the Lekang/Grey turtl eis the dominant species who landed and spawn in the Ngagelan Beach.

All this time Ngagelan beach is main destination for to researchers who come of from various backgrounds and also a center of activity of turtle egg collection from Pancur beach to Cungur with a long coastline for about 18 km.

To go to Ngagelan beach can be reached by four or two wheel vehicles from the post of Rowobendo towards to the west or from Trianggulasi by on foot through the beach.

With clean sand beach, and also coupled with the combination of mangrove forest and tropical forest which still a green and natural make the turtle laying eggs in this beach comfortably. In the month of April – June, when the wind rapidly from the east bring a warm air to the coast of the Java island, the turtles from the south sea will landed to the Ngagelan shoreline.
